    Canadian BD

    Howdy,

Im guessing this is post war 1950's?

I dont know how to tell the difference other than if its dated!

No broad arrow, just some of little stamp that I see all the time on post war items. Shoulder buttons are metal.

Just need to be sure its not good and just post war marked...

    Cheers!

The open collar is normally indicative of post-war patterns.

Completely different pattern to the wartime BD. Postwar are made with 3-piece bodies (back, left- and right-sides). Wartime were made in two pieces -- left- and right sides joined via a central seam down the middle of the back.

The open lapel is a general indicator of postwar BD but some wartime garments were so modified (although quite easy to tell due to the construction differences).

The C-broad arrow was on Canadian BD very early on so is not a postwar marking. Also, early Canadian BD had both the ink stamps and the Brit-style white calico labels.

Nice BD you have...post-war BD's are very underestimated in my opinion.

The C Broad Arrow was used until around 1949. It was replaced by the stamp shown on your BD which is called a Canadian Army Technical Inspection Services mark.
