Majors uniform, Royal Engineers

Shirt is war time US enlisted shirt and tie is also US, came with officers set. Pic(s) taken with flash.

How close are the colours of these shirt & tie to original British ones?

One book I went through had couple of pics from officers on open collar uniform but IMO colours were different from each other (private shirts?).

Anyone have spare original shirt & tie...?

The shirt and tie are actually OK to use and were not unknown.

The colours of Officers shirts and ties varied a great deal as they were private purchase items.

Good to know, WW2 era US shirts and ties are easy to find and relatively cheap.

What do you think of the cap, does it look like war time (apart from the replaced buttons)?
