    Bmb stamp on crash pad?

Hello again fellow Brit./Can. military collectors.

My question is: Have you ever seen a WW2 British para helmet with BMB stamp on rubber crash pad insteasd of on sweat band?

    Thanks

No, and it sounds pretty fishy.

I assume because there is an airborne helmet currently on ebay with such a stamp? Avoid it. Pile of junk.

Yes it's forsale. Here some pics of it. Could this just be a rare unknown stamping?

        thanks

I would avoid that helmet for sure. The stamp in the crash pad is rubbish and the sweatband also seems bear an obvious fake "1944" on it.

It seems someone butchered the sorbo at the raised neck pads to sqeeze it into the shell.

This is so ugly it makes me look pretty.

this seller is so ignorant. Here's his emails to me after I confronted him about his fake.

"hi, thanks. you are wrong. so you and the so called vets can "go **** yourself" get a job and mind you own business, i so tired of people like you who think they know everything and dont know ****, oh, and again, thanks"

                and

"what ever it is stamped into the leather head band. look at the photos. once again you don't know ****. at that is why you live in faggot ass Canada. "

You can report those abusive emails to eBay who may take action.

Why didn't you buy It, then when you had his address you could have flown down there and see If he was such a hero as you were kicking his teeth down his throat. Alternatively I suppose you could report him to eban.

                        That

That flash looks like it's been painted on by a 3 year old !

Also the web strap ends look to be rounded rather than square !!! (Haven't seen rounded ones before !!! ... Guy are these like the Israeli type ?? one's totally "fray-bentosed" ... and the way they have been photo'd, he seems to have done his best to keep them out of shot))

Wow Gary, didn't spot the Israeli straps, good call. I did report the SOB, but it seems to get these jerks banned is impossible. Warning or suspension is the most ebay will do. All I can do is help expose these fakes and hope that future buyers will learn. Which is what you forum guys are already doing for many years.

                              Abusive language

I have tried several times to report people on e-bay. They make it almost impossible to do and you have to complain using their forms which give no provision to complain about such matters. I have complained about "cunnard" and other restrike artist sellers and I have heard nothing back. They are still on there. What is interesting is that every single person you confront with indisputable evidence always comes back swearing and abusive. This only reinforces my opinion that they know exactly what they are doing and are just pissed off that someone else knows that. E-bay sucks for policing such things. Most reputable auctions have people to check these things out. You can sell anything on e-bay and get away with it. Somehow those that get caught just make up a new moniker and off they go again ripping off the masses.

                              Ken
