    Lovely grouping, look.

    Hi Chaps,

    http://www.usmilitariaforum.com/foru...***entry414280

Now I know this Isn't English but I also know how many of you appreciate untouched WW1 groupings. This one just popped up for sale on USMF and It Is really Impressive. Owner became Ill so didn't travel to Italy with his unit, ended up In AEF Instead and was wounded. This group Is wonderful as all the bits of minutae are still present, just look at the wallet. I particularly love the paleolithic arrow or spear point, I suppose he must have picked that up In france, wonder If earthworks etc uncovered it. WW1 Isn't my era at all but If I was a bit more lucred at the minute I would buy this.

Hope you all like It, Guy.

I am always amazed at how little Dough Boy items make at auction compared to their British Tommy counterparts. Would be a good cheap collecting theme.

If only British WW1 gas masks were so easy to find in that condition!

I know, It always amazes me too.

French Is the same, you can put together a really lovely collection for extremely reasonable money If you stay sensible. I've never been much cop at Investments but I reacon this stuff just has to rise soon.

This grouping has really nice provenance and the chaps history Is very Interesting as well. Being wounded makes It even more desirable as he actually did something. If this were a British grouping the price would be eye watering.

      Yours, Guy.

Best place to buy French militaria is France because they still don't value it.

I have noticed a dramatic price increase of WW1 Adrians in this country.

hi you have made some very good points here , a while back i looked on the us ebay at first war dough boy stuff and for the price you would pay ovwer here for an average briti other ranks 02 patt tunic you could kit your self out with a full us set or near as dam it , a good wartime badge tunic with history ,pants great coat division marked helmet webbing alot of personal effects , all for well under a thousand quid . I have seen some great small personal effects groups go for peanuts too i mean stuff like cloth insignia dog tags photos and letters home all still boxed up in tin , untouched un messed with , i dont know why theres little interest ? they must be some decent us collector militaria books out there ?

Agreed, but groups like this aren't common!
