It was not until I returned from the carboot and looked through the items that I had just bought, that I realised that it covered about a 100 years of the British Army in combat. The item groups were as follows
4x Boer War Black & White photos (one is great shot of a naval cannon with rounds and ammo boxes)
A 1908 military map of the Aldershot area/camp/manoeuvre map
A group of WW1 photos/postcards showing soldiers convalescing
2x Field cashiers chits 1915/16
A group (20x) of WWII photos of soldiers in training/at rest
4x Army Christian Leaflets (came with above photos)
A pair of 1943 binoculars
25x WWII maps half UK and the others Austria/Yugoslavia/Greece
1943 2 Gallon can (plain for water ?)
A couple of bofors cases
A 1950 cold weather hood
1970 turtle helmet
1980's bergen
1980's 120mm fired round
Gulf war issue bergen cover/mines sign and patch
I don't think I've ever had such an assorted haul all from one carboot !
It just goes to show what's still out there to be found at your local carboot sale.
