I recently picked this up, thought it had a good baggy WW2 shape and would look good on a display. If you look closely you can see the badge is a mis stamp where the die was off a bit when it stuck the metal.

And now the downer, liner has been removed some time ago. A friend has a 7 Para beret that was given the same treatment by its former owner when he went to Java. Still nice looking I think though.

It is a nice beret Lee, and I like the badge despite the strike fault.
With the liner removed it is hard to put a date on it; the large floppy crown and hessian strip around the inside certainly make it a 40'-early 50' beret.
