Where to find Circa 1960 Royal Canadian Navy Uniform

Howdy!

So... I want to make a mannequin display in honour of my late grandfather. He served on the Bonnie circa 1960's with the rank of Chief Petty Officer 1st Class..

As my interests are around the great war I am not very familiar with dealers that would supply post Korean items.

If I could even find a bare tunic and seperate (vintage/reproduction) insignia to make it up myself I would be a happy man.

Hi Greg,
Don't know about dealers but there was someone selling alot of post war Canadian navy uniforms on ebay.
I can't remember for sure the ebay name"jackiefisher" maybe. Try a search of completed listings and you should be able to find them. Had a large quantity of stuff from an old collection or so the story goes.
If you can get in touch with them they may be able to help you out.

RCN items from that period are not usually highly sought after, so will (hopefully) be quite affordable. I'm sure there will be things on ebay...

I happen to know the aforementioned seller personally, i f you need to get in touch with him. But...probably worth having a gander online first.

I can't think of any dealers that specialize in that era...but certainly a good many get things in from time to time.

Thank you for the advice gents. Adam, I send a PM to take the ebay sellers contact info to see if he can help me out. I've been watching ebay but have not turned up anything recently. I've been to the antique shops/militray surplus stores in town also but to no avail.

Patience is a virtue in this hobby for sure

Funny though that if I really wanted to I could purchase myself an "ultra rare" SS Tunic/panzer wrap/kights cross etc. etc. on any given day of the week online without any trouble, but I am having a hell of a time finding a run of the mill RCN tunic
