    10th Highland Light Infantry

I want to ask about the soldiers of 10th Highland Light Infantry wore trews or battle dress trousers in ww2?
Also, should the sleeve insignia be mounted on pieces of serge on each arm of Battle Dress?
    Thanks!

Definitely battledress trousers by 1939. Most if not all the Highland reg'ts wore a square of the regimental tartan behind the cap badge on their bonnets but the shoulder titles in WWII were embroidered cloth, not metal, so I don't think they had tartan backing, but not sure. Should be easy enough to check though.

No hard and fast rules regarding this, some regiments did, some didn't, and you can often see a mix of with and without in the same unit in old photos. So insignia mounted on serge would be correct, put perfectly ok without also.
