        Great photos

Thanks for showing those great photos. Sometimes the mundane items like this are the most difficult to find evidence of. I suppose they were not interesting enough to photograph or record at the time.

              fuel tablet tin.

I know it isn’t in the 24-hour box, but it was issued with it and seen in the previous pictures.

Has anyone seen a 24hr. ration box with the paper contents/instruction sheet glued into the inside box cover?

I've never seen that.... but as the instructionsheet is printed on both sides it would make it difficult to read both sides !

Here some more piccies from items from a 24 hour ration :

                      - a tin for the "Cookerfuel tablets on metal disk", including the round fueltablet.
                      - two chocolatebars, one wrapped in tinfoil and greaseproof paper, the otherone just only in greasproof paper. Apparently one of them is a bar with raisins, but I can't see it (NO, I'm NOT going to open it!)
                      - two packs of chewinggum, made by Mackintosh's Halifax
                      - some sweets in a very sticky state ! Paper wrappers are marked with makers name, but it's very difficult to read.

The candies are labelled "Parker Dobson" a company that was still in business until quite recently. I haven't seen their products lately but may have been swallowed (no pun) by a larger company like Nestle or Cadbury.
