    Post war Paracute Regiment BD

    Hi Guys,
a friend of mine called me and told me he had a Battle dress jacket and trousers, it has Captains rank, Pegasus patch and wings and a muroon tab that says PARACHUTE REGIMENT,. I know the tab is post war, but when did they start using it? Is it worth any thing being post war? Sorry, that's parachute in title, ha.
    Thanks,
    Kevin

Kevin, I'm not sure when the blue on maroon title was introduced but I believe around the fifties. Blouse and trousers would be around 100 pounds, depending on the pattern of the insignia.

      Hi Luc ,
Thanks for the info, I'm picking it up tomorrow, so I will take some photos and post them when I get it, maybe I can find a tag with dates. I'm usually just into WWII German, but I like all Airborne pieces.
      Thanks,
      Kevin

Well, picked up the jacket and pants, pants stamped 1951 from what I can make out. The jacket and trousers look unworn. Here are some of the insignia photos.
        Thanks,
        Kevin

it's hard to tell in the sun, but the horse and rider are in a pail blue.

I'd struggle to even call that original post-war insignia. By the looks of it, it's all reproduction.

The pips should be light blue and not khaki too.

                        Hi Jack,

I have not bought this yet, figured I would put it on here first and ask. My friend bought this from an older lady at a house call, he buys vintage clothing so no loss if it's not good.
                        Thanks

Kevin, I'm with Jack on this set. It doesn't look good and would recommend not to buy it.

I would say these wings are modern No.2 ones.
