British para bd badges & beret original or fake?

    Hi All,

The following images are patches from a 1944 date "Glider" Battle Dress Blouse & the inside stamping from the beret. No glow under UV light. I would very much appreciate it, if you would take a look at the images and please state your opinions on originality?

    Regards

    Allan

It's not a para blouse, paras didn't wear the glider patch.

Apart from that, the airborne strips and Pegasus are original WWII examples. As for the beret, I've never heard of that maker; the broad arrow looks odd (not symmetrical) and the date is conveniently faded. I'm not too fond of it.

                          Correction

                          Hi Luc,

So I am safe with the BD. It is the beret, which is in question.

                          Correction; Glider and not Para.

                          Regards

                          Allan

I agree with Luc about the patches. The beret looks to me as a Belgium contract post-war beret. I see berets like ABL.(Belgium beret). The date is certainly messed with. Looks like the 44 is aplied later. Wy is the 44 faded and the 19 not?
De beret is certain a nono for me.

Hi Allan, this is all advice I can agree with. The beret is indeed postwar Belgian.

                              Cheers, Ade.
