Luc, IMO the easy way to tell the difference between a "B" & "C" type, is the "B" types oxymask attaches to press studs on the inside of the helmet, the C,D & E have the press studs on the outside of the helmet.
Going by the chin strap attachment, I would guess it is a Type "C" General Purpose 1945 issue.

The kukri has a very narrow blade for an issue piece, unless it's pre-WWI, IMHO and the handle, properly small for a Gurkha hand, also looks a bit thin. That is to say, the ones made in WWII in England and India have larger handles, presumably designed by someone who DIDN'T have gurkha size hands.
Having said all that, I'd be very intereted, like Luc, in any markings it has on it. You seem to have been a very lucky guy this week! (Sigh, envy, drool, big grin)
