Help needed on reseach of British soldier

Hi guys,
I am looking for information on Sgt. A.T. Hopkins who served with the 44 Ind Fd Ambulance...I guess this is a regiment? His service number is 11264138 and I know he served in Malaya as I have an old Japanese sword that he brought back in my possession. I know this is my first post on this section so I hope no one will hold it against me. Thanks for any information you can give, perhaps a website you might be able to direct me towards for my own research.

WW2 research is limited, it can only be done in rare circumstances:

1. Gallantry Medal Winner
2. An Officer
3. A POW
4. A Casualty

In the old days you could of tried OCA's but sadly most of these are no longer around. Sorry but unless your related or know the family of this man hes going to remain an unknown until the WW2 records are released........give it a few decades for that to happen.

Not 100% certain but unit is possibly 44 Indian Field Ambulance in which case there could be an airborne connection. Service number would appear to be from the block allocated to Royal Artillery.
