firstly HAPPY NEW YEAR to every one.
many years ago 23 to be exact i bought this helmet off a old chap called ken hulme . he was the son of a local butcher during the war . how he came across it was by chance... found it in a field by chance after a accident involving a truck which crashed full of paratroops on their way back to ringway from tatton park ...
ken showed me where the crash took place. still a large hole in the country side hedge very close to stock farm.
ive no doubt of the story as ken showed me many things he came across during the war . and also where many troops trained. to which ive found many relics .... old ken was a mine of infomation . he was not old enough to join up but loved the army .
i would like to share the pictures with you but not able to post them
would it be possible a fellow member could post them on my behalf
sorry for the inconvienence
best regards to all .....
