    Opinions needed on bayonet

I have recently acquired this bayonet which I believe, but I may be wrong, is British WWII vintage. I would be grateful for any information about it and an indication of its value. I attach some pictures.
    Thanks,
    Peter.

Looks like a good bog standard spike bayonet to me. Are there any other markings?

      Cheers, Luc

I haven't followed them on ebay recently but I'd guess around 10 pounds. They are very common.

          Cheers, Luc

I have just noticed some other markings on this bayonet. There is an S or 8 or 5 stamped on the other side and a 5 stamped underneath it. are they of any significance?
              Thanks,
              Peter.

An s, or a boxed s could mean that Stevens Savage is the manufacturer. Do you have a close up picture?

I will try and take one and post it, but it might take me a while.
                  Thanks,
                  Peter.

This is another picture of the mark on the other side. Sorry the pictures are rather dark.

Terry, here's a close up of a LB stamp. You will see it is different from the one shown here.

This bayonet has been repaired at some time.
                              Can not tell when.
The bayonet is Canadian made by the Long Branch factory.
                              Clearly marked LB.
The knob is US made by the Savage Factory.
                              Marked S.
Overall a good ww2 bayonet, but as stated before, it has been repaired at some time.
