Not sure but could be 10th Royal Hussars or an odd chance Glamorgan Yeomanry.

The silver piping & chinchain lead me to believe it's for a yeomanry regiment. Regular cavalry would be gold, or yellow for other ranks. Appears to be an officer's busby. I have many books on British Army uniforms, and none show any type of badge on any of the hussar regiment busbies of this period, nor are they described as such in dress regulations. Looks like a nice example.

1. Are there any markings on the top under the bag?
2. Same for the bag?
3. Same for the inside?
4. How does the 'badge' fix to the front?
5. What sort of fitting is on the Horse Hair plume (if this was original to the Busby and badge there sould be no gap or tap showing? From the shape and size of the plume it looks like it should be on the side of a Busby not on the top!
6. Are the lines gold or silver, and how do they fixed onto the Busby?

Hi Marc there are no markings under the bag or on the bag ,the badge is fixed by being sewm on ,see photo of fitting its a square metal hole and on the inside is a screw that can be tightened ,the lines appear to be gold .I have found this photo which I think is the Lancashire Yeomanary or some other Yeomanarys as Jhn and Robert suggested ,cheers Rob.

Oh yes it all came together in a tin hat box .
