    hi all, this a photo of my father inlaw he served in the "southern" irish army either before or during the second world war, took no part in it, but can anyone tell anything from the uniform, it seems to have crossed rifles on his collar.

    Nice photo! Crossed rifles in the Irish army signifies Infantry. Can't tell you anything else I'm afraid.
