Can someone make sense of the insignia this SOE agent is wearing on his left chest pocket?

Very strange indeed. It looks like a cloth version of possibly a non-English aircrew wing. Certainly nothing I can recognise immediately. Regards, Clive.

Looks to be a Royal Netherlands Naval Air Service brevet, embroidered in wire, but unfortunately I can't make out the lettering
