Don't know about a flower, but the badge in the photo is post 1947 Eastern Command, it replaced the WWII Eastern Command badge which was a white bulldog on black square.

The Australian Army, Eastern Cmd had a plant in bloom on their formation sign.
[1] 1st pattern was a red flower with white markings on a white rectangle, silk embroidered.
[2] 2nd pattern was a red flower with green leaves on a blue rectangle, silk
embroidered.
