super lot , its rare to get the wooden helve marked up that is a nice find ,the badolier is just fantastic , but the ` tiny bit of o` strapping an brass` that hold the bayonet to the helve ,well if this is an original its worth a fortune ,are there any dates on the inside of it ? have you checked the book to see if the guy wrote his name or service no. inside ,many thanks for showing . Michael.

      Hi Michael,

I am pretty sure it's original, here are a couple of more pictures for study.

      Cheers

Looks like a real one to me. One of only a couple of items I'm missing from my set.

I'd agree with Bruce, the helve strap looks good to me as well. Amazing to think that such an elusive & small piece of webbing is worth so much.

                  Well done Gary !

By curiosity, how much would that little piece be worth??

                      Hi Jean,

I havn't seen one for sale for many years and the last one I saw sold for 400 bucks. So probably more than that.

Interesting. It doesnt look as sexy as a Totenkopf at first glance; but I guess when it is the only missing piece to complete your gear, you have to be ready to pay the price.
