    Correct ribbon grouping

    Hello,

I have a possibility in purchasing the following uniform. I was wondering if the ribbon grouping on the uniform appears to be correct. I do know that this individual did receive the DSO. I am not sure of the order and if these were in the correct order. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Regards,

    John

Order of the British Empire (Mil), DSO, MC, 1914 Star with clasp, British War Medal, Allied Victory Medal with MiD, Africa Star, 1937 Coronation Medal, MiD awarded in an area that a medal was/has not been issued for.

Doesn't the DSO have precedence over the OBE?

No, the sequence is Orders, Decorations and Medals, the DSO is a Decoration.

              Why should he have one?

                Mark,
Would he not be entitled to wear this before the Africa star if he served overseas? some times complicated I know, the MID would suggest either a pre war medal (which should have already been issued) or the war medal.?

It is possible that this SD Jacket was worn before May 1945, when he was only allowed to have either the Africa Star or the 1939-1943 Star. It is also possible that the owner was killed before 1945 and therefore did not receive any other Campaign Medals. If we had a name it may be possible to check

Hello, What is the ribbon between the OBE and the DSO?

                    Also,

I know he was killed at the beginning of 1944. Hope this helps.

                    Thanks for all the replies.

The first three ribbons are -
                      OBE
DSO - Distinguished Service Order (red w/blue edge)
MC - Military Cross (white w/central purple stripe)
