Do you mean the penguin in water proof material? Over rated in my opinion because it was also worn post war.

Beach groups.

Hello mate,I presume you mean the beach groups insignia of res anchor on a blue field? I've seen these at fairs for the £45-£50 mark.
(These badges were also later worn by 8th GHQ Troops Engineers in 21st Army group and BAOR when they reverted back to their GHQ role on the disbandment of the Beach Groups.)
The penguin badge of 22nd Beach Brigade seems to go for around £80 from dealers.This Brigade was formed for the proposed invasion of Japan but wasn't needed for obvious reasons.I wasn't aware that it was worn post war.All the best,

Was in a rush when posted this morning, the Circle red on white Anchor patch used by beach troops, RE, R Sig, during the Normandy landings.

And 8th Armoured brigade formation patch - sherwood rangers etc.

The 22nd Beach Brigade insignia was scarce even during WW2 as it was a short lived and redundant brigade.

The insignia was not used post war. However If there is proof to debunk this well established 'knowledge' I'd be the 1st inline to be educated.
