Glider Pilot Regiment,1 more pic from the skip bag

Hi all finally sorted the last from the skip bag and found this photo related to the items previously mentioned in earlier threads.it is in poor condition due to damp but shows L.Z. P West of the rhine.In the left hand bottom quarter the LZ is outlined and in the border are the LZ dimensions.

on the reverse is this inscription 24 march 1945 11.00 hrs
Landing west of the Rhine.
about 2 miles North East of Hamilceln
operation successful. and beneath in dog latin
(NIL PANICUS NIL TAURUS EXCRETA)(there still wasn't)

I would of thrown the person who threw these away into a skip.

Now show us a glider pilots log book and zee medals............

wish I had a log book to show Steve still I got his paybook etc its on page 38 of the ww2 british airborne insignia thread

Its an interesting grouping, but as it stands its a grouping that tells only part of a story. You need to go here:

...........and spend some time looking through war diary entries for any mention of your man only then will you be able to understand what that man actually did and much as a dislike to say it be able to sell it for its true value. Research makes all the difference to price.
