Tank Corps Badge?

does someone know this badge?
A fellow collector told me it was a WW1 canadian tank corps arm badge,is it right?

If memory serves me correctly that is an arm badge for a sergeant of the British Royal Tank Corps. I have also seen cloth examples of this as well.

Also worn by cadre above the rank at the armour school at BASE BORDEN some years ago , I think it is all at GAGETOWN now and not sure if the tradition is still carried on
