Wings Query

Could anyone possibly ID the wings attached, whether they are English/South African etc and from what period they originate e.g. WWII/Post WWII.

I have two of these...they appear to be missing something in the middle (there is a pin hole). One has two attachment devices on the reverse, the other does not.

The first is a padded wing of the South African Air Force, for the designation of General Aircrew (sometimes called the observer's brevet). The crown style would indicate that it was manufactured for wear anytime from the second world war up to the change in 1952. It looks original, but I find the black threaded X's in the crown quite odd, as they are all off centre to the right from where they should be. This wing does have a very good chance however, as I have seen many different variations in construction.

The Shield in the centre depicts the coat of arms of South Africa, starting in the top left and moving clockwise, there's The Symbol of Hope of The Cape Province, The Wildebeeste of Natal, The Wagon of the Transvaal and the Orange Tree of the Orange Free State.

The last two, I can't help you with.
