    FYI stolen British medals

Something to be on the lookout for.

BURLINGTON, Ont. - A veteran of the Second World War has had his medals stolen from the Royal Canadian Legion in Burlington, Ont.
The 85-year-old veteran was attending an event at the legion in May with more than 200 people in attendance.
The man had his five medals in small black boxes so he could have them professionally mounted.
He left them on a table and when he returned, someone had swiped the medals.
All the medals are from the British army and one is very rare, a British army Palestine Medal with only 1,000 in existence.
Authorities are asking anyone who comes across the valuable medals to contact Halton Regional Police.

I didn't know things like this went on in Burlington. But only 1000 GSMs Palistine clasp maybe to a given Regiment but thousands issued 42 Regiments and Corps present plus Palestine Police and RAF.

What is the veterans name on the rim of te General Service Medal bar Palestine 1945-48? I see hundreds such groups every week.

I understand that this is a terrible thing but this veteran MUST give his name otherwise we wont be able to look for his medals for the above reason.
