AAC cap badge original?

Hello all this is my first AAC badge and im hoping it is a good one, only paid £1 for it so not a lot lost if it terns out to be a repro.

So what’s your opinions on this one?

I would have to say repro but I would wait to hear what lnijherald says, when it comes to AAC badges I highly value his opinion.

Oh well, I don’t own a genuine AAC badge to go by, at least I’m only out of pocket by about a pound.

Whats the give a way for It been a repro?

For me its details in the feathers and the head.

A slider on an AAC badge is always a bad sign I think.

There are 2 common replicas: the one you show (voided crown), the give away for me is the eagle's beak. There's another one (non-voided crown) that shows an eagle that has some feathers missing from its tail. Ill see if I can find a picture of one of them.

This example came from a friend who served in the AAC postwar showing similar design to the previous badge hence my gut reaction which I believed was OK.

Scott this is a badge which the pilot purchased for a reunion or something, not WWII manufacture.
If you look at how easy it is to find, I don't believe it to be of WWII manufacture.

I would add that a Marples and Beasley slider is always a bad sign as well. I have never seen one on a genuine badge and I am not even sure that the firm ever made ORs badges at all.
