It is the ealy WWII civilian private purchase helmet. if you get a copy of the DVD "The Blitz" you will see a couple of ladies and children wearing them. Very rare bird in deed and now everyone one knows what they are. Apart from mine that is the second one I have seen.

Thanks Marc luckily the seller listed it in ww1 medals under steelhelmet and I was the only bidder .I also got this private purchase WW1/WW2 helmet of him which was nice . I shall go out and get the Blitz DVD cheers Rob.
