    Collecting documentation program

    Hi all.

As i like to document my collection, i am looking for a program to document it.
I would like to put some photographs in it and a small description and the price i bought the item for.
There is a program called Adlib Museum lite, but that is a kind of complicated program.
Is there something that is a bit more easy to use?

    Cheers,
    Sipke

    Hello Sipke,

Without trying to sound flippant, there’s no real need for any special programs as far as I can see. A simple digital camera along photo editing program should prove more than adequate to properly record and document a collection. The photo editing program allows you to add text to the digital pictures so that each item can be described in detail. I swear by Irfanview, an easy to use free download.

Once done you can burn the data to a disc and store off site for future reference. I do a fair bit of work with the insurance industry and can attest to the fact that a simple photograph on its own is a powerful thing. Of course, if your intention is to have your collection insured be sure check with your insurer as rules and regulations may be different over in Holland.

    Regards,
    Tony
