    15th Parachute Battalion WW2 Lot

I was wondering chaps was this lot worth 1700 pounds? What do you guys total it at?

I was speaking with a friend about this lot and we couldnt work out why the two pairs of Parachute Regiment titles and Pegasus appear to be in two different states of wear?

    P.S. Sorry I put 15th in the title I meant 12th.

    Hi Steve,

I just had a cursory glance. There are things I would expect to see in a genuine grouping that I don't see there so I am very surprised it sold for 1700 GBP. That price is far in excess of what the sum of the parts add up to. Was the dealer offering provenance of any kind?

Its just as is Des, straight from the veterans wife. I dont know anymore than you do. I am inclined to agree with you in regards to the total sum of the parts. My calculations took into account the pairs of insignia are in fact not matched pairs. The beret looks ok, has a visable gromit but sadly no date.
Another puzzling aspect is the lack of photos but it could be that the lady decided to keep those? I also wonder what happened to soldiers service book?

Rest assured this was not a fantasy listing made to give the dealers web site publicity.....I saw it up for sale and had chance of it. Rest assured it wasnt for sale for long, anything airborne on none Airborne dealers web sites these days only lasts a few hours. there must be guys looking on all the dealers sites 24/7.

I wish I`d got onto this Airborne collecting band waggon sooner because it makes gallantry WW2 special forces medals look cheap, I could have made some super trades for medals. Theres no individual item in that lot which really makes my mouth water. No disrespect intended to the veteran.

        Hi
I don't think the mis matched insignia is always a bad thing, I have BD with non matching patches, unusual but totally real. Also it always surprises me what the family sells or keeps, often splitting up groupings
