    Royal Armoured Corps badge question

    Hello

I would like to hear some opinions about this cap badge

It is a capbadge from the Royal Armoured Corps. This is the so called economy cap badge (in light bronze plastic). The badge has to blades on the rear.
The maker is A. Stanly & Sons Walsall. Sealed 31st januari 1943. k.k.2199
    (productionnumber perhaps)

Is this a wwII type and correct?

    Thanks in advance

    Regards Erwin

Erwin, this is an original WWII cap badge.

The KK 2199 is not a production number but a reference code taken from the books by Kipling and King about cap badges.

You might be intereste dot know that the RAC badge was worn by solider sundergoing training (prior to their posting to the RTR or Cavalry regts) and also by RAC regts who were raised as fighting Tank regts in their own right.

Probably not - it is generally accepted that the tail should be more separate from the rest fo the body. The copies have it connecting to the body at a lower point down the body.
