Unknown Div Sign Help Please

Picked this up anyone know what it is, good or fake,first pic shows colour second pic much sharper.thanks RMR

Its the Malayan Kris.........a knife the native people in Malaya used often found with a watered blade.

I think this one is ok, I dont see any reason why anyone would want to repro a Malaya Command.

Thanks yellow the reason i posted it is because above stiched on the epaulette of a 1941 dated BD is the shoulder strap pictured below.which is very grubby and looks as if its been there forever,the flash makes it look clean.regards RMR

Is this an 'advertising' find? I wish I had the money to be able to buy it from you.

The shoulder title is that of the 5th Royal Gurkha Rifles and the Kris divisional patch is, I believe, of the Indian Army (which would make sesne, No?) but I'm just trying to confirm that.

No joy on locating the badge yet, but the 19th Ind Div had a somewhat similar dagger - point down - and some individual brigades of the IA wore their own badges too, so possibly that?
My favourite, BTW, was a support brigade to an IA div whose badeg was a charging elephant. The support units wore the same badge "taken form the rear" as it were: an elephant's arse. Cause of much low merriment among the troops.

That is a representation of Karis or Kris. The design is unmistakeable. A common form of knife found in Malaysia, Philippines and Indonesia.
The patch must have something to do with this area.
