    Irish Guards cap badges question

    Hello

Is there somebody who has an WWII Irish Guards cap badge? I'm searching for one but i don't know what types there are. Where to look at or where i can find one.

    Thanks in advance

    Regards Erwin

This is the reverse shot from the one in my collection. I do not know if it is original since the dealer I bought it from liked to mix repros in with originals. I did have obverse shots but the weather did not allow those.

        thanks for the replies guys.

I purchased one from ebay. According to the seller it was an officer cap badge from the Irish Guards (WWII)

This is the text from the add:

WW2 THE IRISH GUARDS CAP BADGE OFFICERS BRASS METAL!!!!

THE WW2 IRISH GUARDS OFFICES BADGE BI METAL LOOK!!!! IS BECOMING HARD TO GET NOW DAYS!

THIS CAP BADGE HAS LUGS TO THE REAR AND THE METAL IS BRASS METAL!!!!!!

VERY NICE BADGE FOR THE PRICE! THIS BADGE IS HARD TO PICK UP!

I will post some better pictures when it arrives

        Regards Erwin

The seller is either clueless, or a ripoff artist. Your badge is a very common other ranks badge. An officer's badge is silver, gilt , and enamel, and probably will cost at least $100+. I don't believe there is any significant difference in Irish Guards badges, regardless of the reigning sovereign, from 1900 to today. The badge has no crown to signify a particular monarch, so they are consistent in their appearance. I hope you didn't pay much for your badge!

              Erwin,

I recognize the description and I'm afraid you've been duped.

                hello Keith

Thanks for the reply. Do you mean it is a copy? Because if it is no officer rank, it is no problem for me. For me counts that it is an original period one

Are cap badge from the Irish Guards hard to find?

                regards Erwin

Your badge is other ranks, not an officer's. Irish Guards badges are readily available, although authentic senior nco and officer badges are somewhat scarce, and much more expensive.
