Opinon on english badges

What are you finding confusing? It is staight forward enough, you do get GG badges with either luggs or Sliders. The slider was introduced just prior to WW1.

This argument gets aired so regularly without any conclusion so I'm not going to enter the discussion on WW1 badges. I will however say that I have badges which can be dated pre-1908 which have sliders and I don't mean long pagri types. Most of them are Volunteer Battalions with the odd regular infantry and cavalry too.
