    Any information on this unit

Here is a locally made bullion patch/badge for the MOBILE FIELD PHOTOGRAPHY SECTION. I believe this is a British Army unit of some kind. Does anyone have any information on it?
    Thanks,
    Garth

The MFPSs (latterly MFPUs) were RAF units based in Germany supporting the PR-roled squadrons. Each RAFG base (Brüggen, Gütersloh, Laarbruch and Wildenrath) had its own section (extra to the station's ground photo section) and dealt purely with reconnaissance imagery. They were phased out in the '70s as the squadrons adopted the idea of having dedicated AirPhots on squadron strength who could deploy with the unit.

Fascinating , thanks Tony! And Garth, what a lovely badge, looks British or possibly Italian made.

      Yours, Guy.
