    British Camo

    Hello All

I found this picture in a book about the fightings in Arnhem 1944. What kind of camo cloth do these Paratrooper wear? It looks like german DOT camo cloth. See first and second men from the left

    Thanks in advance

    Regards Erwin

I have to say it does look as thought its DOT camo but if it is someone has gone to great lengths to make an exact copy of the issued Denison including putting what appears to be glider wings on it. A very cool and interesting photo, thanks for sharing.

The photo suffered from damp that accounts for the spots .Rob

Hi Guys, Robb is correct. The photo was damaged by damp which gave this odd effect.

The guys are from XXI Indep. Para. Coy.

            Cheers, Ade.

Take a look at the walls on the last photo.
                The walls are also spotted.
The same when you look at the weapons.
This question has been made previous on other forums.
                Can't remember where though.

The whole photo is water damaged. Different areas have been subjected to degrees of damage.

                  Cheers, Ade.

The gentleman on the left is a glider pilot, note the army flying badge on his smock.

Edit: the second guy from the left is also a GP by the name of Louis Hagen.

No mate, these were the good guys.

As a matter of interest, GP Louis Hagen was German by birth.

There's some further info on Mark Hickman's website:

                              Cheers, Ade,
