Hi Jeff, the tins I see for sale at shows seem to sell for about £25 to £35 for an empty example. Often the gilt wash will be polished off. Full examples seem to sell for £90 upwards.

Yee Gods. I have my price list from Xmas, 1972 (when we went to down to London on the train)-50p for a Ww1 Victory medal (inf. regt.), 50p for a Mary's tin.
Of course in those days my pocket money was only 20p a week-but still.

I have heard about these, but not being a WW1 collector, I did not know if it was true or not or just another collectors legend.

Ade, The dealer was honest enough to say that the tin was original but the contents were repro. It is hard to tell the difference with the cig paper. But he had the pic, pencil, card and tobacco.

i love Princess Mary Tins, here are two of mine with a Trio. the contents are modern day reproduction,and are filling space until i can find period contents
