Nice. I've passed up opportunities to buy them on a couple of occasions, and later regretted it.

        Greetings Andy,

I have one also which I found in an antique shop in central Illinois a few years back. I will get some photos and post it tonight.

          Greetings All,

Tonight came sooner than I expected! I bought this tin about 7 years ago with everything that you see here in it. The only extra thing that wasn't issued with the tin is the ribbon bar.

I am unsure if you can see in the photos but the tin has almost 90% of its original patina. Here you are!

These are great items and nice to see at this time of year.

I don't own one myself, but we have one in the family given to a relative which I have designs upon

                        Cheers, Ade.

What is the history about this tin??? A present for troops of WW1???

Very nice-these used to be 50p when I started collecting. Alas, i never got one as I thought I'd always be able to find one-now, no such luck. Oh to go back in time.
I met a man on the bus once who still carried his in his coat pocket with hand rolled cigs in it. He told me his company all had Christmas puddings as well that year-supplied by one of the officers from Harrods. Apparently Harrods delivered wicker Christmas hampers to the front lines (ordered ones-not free).
