Unknown marking on wings

I recieved a padded wing today, there's some writing to the rear (6/6 or 6/8 or 8/9 hard to make out) which seems original to the padding.

Any theories what it means? Retail price perhaps?

Hi Luc,

Looks like the original purchase price to me!. If it's 6/8 that would mean it cost 6 shillings and 8 pence (or 38 pence if you prefer)

Wish that was the going rate these days : D
