Pedersoli, as you may or may not know, is an Italian manufacturer of very good REPRODUCTION "Brown Bess" muskets. His early version used a lock based on one by Stowe.
Very many British muskets of the Rev War period were assembled at the Tower of London from parts made by private manufacturers: "lock, stock and barrel" put together and approved by Tower armourers. Arms were then stamped with approval marks but the word "Tower", which many expect on every musket, would only appear on the lock if it was actually made there.
Was that the source of the "???" ?
BTW, I'm not suggesting for a minute that the $3000 musket is a Pedersoli repro. If it is a period piece, that price might well be reasonable but I have no opinion on it one way or the other and even with it in hand would be reluctant to comment on authenticity 'cause I'm not an expert in muskets or RevWar., only somewhat knowledgeable about War of 1812.
after I got this gorget, I think its a French copy?

Hello:
Interesting gorget, rather than being a period 18th Century militaria
item maybe it is more of a movie prop example like this one ?

OLDFLAGSWANTED

I'd say 'movie prop' is a ggod guess. Quality is very poor - not good enough for a re-enactor to wear - and the engraving and the suspension chain don't look right. They were typically hung from ribbons.
