Picked up a few pictures over the weekend, they were on post-card sized file cards and I was told they were something to do with wartime Intelligence. This one has the reference BU 5621 (WN) in ink on the side of the card. I have no idea where and when it was taken, it may be well known? There are some interesting details, the fellow third from the right seems to be wearing a German Smock and the fellow second from the left a possibly unusual Fighting Knife. Regards, Clive.

It seams all the Airborne enthusiasts have gone silent That must be a good photograph!
I suppose I am pointing out the obvious but badges on the berets appear to be Royal Artillery and parachute Regiment.
Now I am guessing here because Ade is the bible on this subject, I`m guessing that the photo is taken in Holland.....notice the victory V in the background or it could be the insignia for a HQ.Last edited by yellow; 11-12-2007, 03:26 PM.

More than one man is airborne - a couple are wearing Pegasus patches, one man is wearing a German eagle on his beret, an artilleryman is wearing a skull on his left breast by the look of it.
Wonder if the bayonet, pair of skulls which look like panzer, not necesarily SS insignia & eagle all come from one unfortunate German?

There's no reason because the photo was reversed. I have found several wartime pics reversed. I think, simply, that the photographr have take the negative and printed mirrored ... only a distraction!!!
Very interestin pics, indeed!!
