    Visor Help Needed

I was given this hat by an 88 year old Canadian Army vet yesterday. He stated that it was German and had a swaztika on it which his son removed many years ago. The first thing I noticed was the C broad arrow indicating Canadian use. However I posted it on the German cloth headgear page first. The results over there were definately not German. I have never seen a Canadian visor like this. Any help IDing?

hard to tell anymore about the colour but this hat appears to be a pre 1936 CAF OR Canadian air force hat before they became RCAF and that would probably account for the thought it was a german eagle but maybe a very scarce badge.

It is for sure airforce blue and the cap is missing the dark cap band. The leather visor is interesting.

Yes... I'd say the hat has a lot more of a BLUE color base than is showing on the picture. Pauls explanation of a CAF (pre RCAF ) badge being mistaken for a German eagle makes alot of sense. I'll see if I can track down the badge from the son and it might clear things up. thanks for the replies.... Jim
