Opinions on this glider pilot jacket.

Looks OK to me, but just thought I'd get some other opinions before committing to it.

To me it looks made up only becuse the fading or the medal ribbon does not match the 'newness' of the pilot wings.

Printed airborne strips are nasty repros. Wings, shoulder titles and pegasus look good, so probably a put together.

Just look at the pristine blueness and stitching on that patch - it really is an obvious put together.

How long after 1945 was the 'AIRBORNE' strip worn for?

I asked because the Defence and War Medal ribbons are on the Blouse!

Avoid at all costs! It's a put together piece with fake Airborne strips. Just out of interest, how much has this been offered for?

Marc, officially the Airborne strip should not have been worn after December 1944 but I believe it continued to be worn until the end of the war. I have the ACI stuff on it somewhere but that gives you a rough idea.

It's being sold by a bloke I know for someone else. The 3rd party wants $1600.00 AUD for it. It's supposed to have originally come from a veteran who used to wear it on Anzac day etc. Said veteran could have put it together himself for Anzac day, reunions etc, or of course the 3rd party could have done it also. It also comes with a beret that I was told was a fake. The veteran was using his original one that developed a hole in it, so he contacted his friend in Britain that provided him with this replacement. The badge is supposed to be original though?.

Hard to tell but I have my doubts.

For 160 AUD I'd say buy, 1600 is too much.
