    British & Canadian headgear

    Hi all,

These are offered on a second-hand side and you have to make a bid.
Unfortunately I have no idea of the prices of Commonwealth headgear.
Can someone tell me about the average prices?

About the field cap. Is it normal that there's no unit insigne?

    Thank you.
    Bye.
    Frank

Hi Frank, I am not sure on current values on these, but if you can get them for about £25 each you will not go far wrong. That is ignoring the value of the cap badges. I don't know if these are real or restrikes.

The FS cap may be unissued if there is no evidence of hole/s for a cap badge. BUT it is not unusual to see the lug of the slider of the cap badge just slipped over the side flap of the cap; this leaves no evidence of wear, other than possible fading.

Are the Scotish bonnets wartime dated? Note Gordon Highlanders cap has had another badge fitted at one time.

    cheers, Ade.

The Seaforths' one is dated on 1943.
