    Mystery Helmet Cover

I picked this up at an arms fair on sunday out of curiosity.

Its original Denison material, properly machined together, with a draw string and fits snugly over a para helmet.

Does anyone know where and when this helmet cover was made/used? As I've never seen/read/heard anything about it before.

    On the helmet.

    Inside out.

Close up of draw string holes.

There are no markings on the inside of the cover.

    Thanks for any help

    Paul.

Hi Paul, I had one very similar many years ago. They are a non standard post war, field/locally made item. Sadly I sacrificed mine in order to repair a smock. Something now I would not do...

    Cheers, Ade.

      Cheers for that Ade

Picked it up on the off chance that it might have been something ww2 made, plus I'd never seen one.

Looks well made... wonder if it could be a SOE item?
