    WWI British patch?

OK guys. I've posted this patch in a couple of forums, not knowing the origin. I think though, I may have narrowed it down to being of British manufacture. Take a look at the wool embroidered patch below and let me know if it's British afterall. I will also post an image of a bullion patch with a similar pattern that I found on the net. Can anyone help me ID this patch. Who would have worn this insignia? I look forward to your replies.

Thanks! Any idea as to market value? A ballpark figure will do. Thank you again

Can be had for as little as £3 or as much as £10.

Introduced in 1917 for all Army 1st Class Lewis Gunners, from 1921 it was to be worn by all qualified Light Machine Gunners. During the 1960's became the LMG Marksman badge. Still produced in the same format for the Guards, with a slight shade and thread difference.
