Cumberland Boobytrap/Mines plate

Hi,

Here i have some pictures of a iron plate, wich is of a friend of mine.

he did get it this summer from a man who found it in the area of La Roche in Belgium. They did dug up this plate and some ammunition by works at their home.

does someone recognize the plate, because i can't find any information about this kind of plate on the internet. also the code/number on the plate is something i don't know what it means and what i just don't seem to find.


i think this plate can be a real nice collectors item, and may be worth alot. am i right??

any information is welcome!!

The sign will not be worth a huge amount of money, maybe £20 maximum. I do not understand what the marking "Cumberland" is there for either? At a guess the name of the CO who's unit cleared the mines, but this is just a guess.

do you see these kind of plate's still often?? i always look for stuff from ww2 on the internet, but i haven't seen such plates before on the internet. and i just can't seem to find such a plate on a picture

but eventually it will come.... i think.

maybe i will see it in Normandy next week. i am going to Normandy for a few days, so i might not respond till i am back from holidays.
