    British Tankcoverall Question

    Hello all,

I'm looking for a wartime dated british tank overall (kaki colour or olive green). Are there any british collectors who have one. Is it possible to see some picture so i can see were to look at when i find one. Are they difficult to find.

Display pictures are also welcome so i can see how they were used. I mean with other gear or equipment. If somebody has one for sale it is also welcome.

    Thanks in advance

    regards erwin

Erwin, can you post a pic of what you are looking for? We had three - the 1943 'pixie' suit, a jungle version and a denim one.

I will keep a lookout - these are very heavy denim, with two full length zips - collar to ankle - a sleeping bag can be made from them. My Father used to have one of these for going pike fishing in in the 1970's, before special one piece suits were designed for anglers These suits came out in July '43 and were used for many years after the war so make sure you buy a wartime issue one.

What would be a fair price for a 44 dated one in a very good condition including the original hood?

                Thanks in advance

                regards Erwin

The normal price would be arround a 100 to 150 euro's including the hood.
This is the british tanksuit, but also the canadians used them also.
If there is no label in the sleeve check the inside of the buttons.
If they are brass coloured you probably have a wartime suit.
Later on they used nickle coloured buttons.
The suits are not really common annymore, but from time to time you will see one.

There is also a camouflaged suit.
But for now i have seen no proof of them beeing worn.

                            mine

When you're looking for one, get a good one! There are mutch ones around without the label, the label is found in the right hand sleeve. Allso sometimes the hoods are missing, and even sometimes the waist strap.

I bought mine with everything intact and still on, dated 1944, for 100 euro's.

                            Kind regards, Erik Suijkerbuijk
