British Ak Helmet ?

Hi guys, I dont know much about these helmets. It has a desert color to it and is dated 1943. Any ideas ???

Looks good to me, a nice original Africa Camo lid. It could have possibly been used in Tunisia or Southern Italy 1943-1944.

Is it correct and common for army helmets?

not a chinstrap that im familiar with, possibly a replacement, but the lid and liner itself looks fine.

I think it's an Israeli post-war reissue. I can tell this from the liner, chin strap and liner mounting rivet instead of the British nut and screw.

Jim, for future reference is this type of chinstrap indicative to Israeli helmets ?

I think there are several types of Israeli straps. I'll check my pictures at home.

I think some of ARP helmets had this type of chinstraps (but it could be later addition).

However I'm not sure were they used also in army helmets or not?

I looked over the 2 brit helmets I have and noted that the chin stap adjusters are different than your example and also the chin straps have an elastic characteristic from the helmet strap attachment points on both sides and then the solid strap under the chin. So four parts to the chin strap on my examples. hope this helps.
