I would be keen to learn from any Forum Members with information and details regarding this award. As far as I am aware it is along similar lines to the "Winged Boot", however not certain if this is American or British. Having checked a number of books and websites I have not found out anything, so any assistance will be much appreciated. My belief is that it was awarded for the safe return to allied lines, possibly as a result of being shot down, if it was an aircrew award. It certainly is uncommon and may have had little use, or for a limited time. It could even be for the "Tufty Club", just hope not! Regards, Clive.
